Important information
What are the covid restrictions?
This tour is fully outdoors, and we will maintain appropriate social distances whenever possible. We provide masks for anyone who may need one, although they will likely not be required for the duration of the tour; your guide will let you know more on the day of your tour. All high-touch surfaces such as handlebars are cleaned before and after each use. We want you to have fun, but safety is our primary objective.
Where is the meeting point?
Your tour meets in the corner of Plaça Sant Jaume near the intersection Carrer del Call and Carrer de Sant Honorat near the Starbucks. Look for your guide with a blue bike with a Fat Tire Tours flag. The closest metro stations are Jaume I (L4) and Liceu (L3). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure.
Is this tour appropriate for children?
We only have e-bikes available in standard adult bike sizes, therefore this tour is not recommended for children younger than 12-years old.
What is an e-bike?
If you can ride a regular bike, you can ride an electric bike! These bikes look like traditional two-wheel bicycles, but use a small motor to help power you forward meaning less effort to go farther or uphill.
Do we go inside the museums and monuments?
Due to time-constraints, we do not visit the inside of buildings during this tour. We do stop for several minutes at each major site along the tour route in order for the guide to talk about the site and we never miss the chance for a photo-opportunity! You’ll listen to entertaining and insightful, not dull and monotonous, anecdotes of Barcelona at every stop.
Is a helmet included?
Helmets are optional for adults on all of our tours, but we have them in sizes for all ages. They are mandatory for riders under the age of 16.
What are you bike options?
Our Montjuic E-Bike Tour uses electric bikes, to help you glide up hills with ease! These bikes look just like traditional two-wheel bicycles, but use a small motor to help power you forward, meaning less effort to go uphill and longer distances. If you can ride a regular bike, you can ride an e-bike.
Can we buy water at your office?
Yes, we have bottled water for sale in our office. We also have a water cooler available if you have a refillable bottle with you.
Is this tour offered in any other languages, or only English?
All scheduled tours are in English, but please inquire about other languages available if booking a private tour.
Can I leave the tour early?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate special requests like this on our public tours. Once the tour begins we ask that you stay with the guide and the group until the end. If you're interested in something shorter, please inquire about a private tour.
How long is the ride?
Our Montjuïc E-Bike Tour covers approximately 7 miles (11 km).
What is your cancellation policy?
We're happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply.
What is your weather policy?
All of our tours operate rain or shine, and we have rain ponchos available in our office for purchase (fully refunded if not used).
Is there a place to store luggage or bags while I'm on tour?
Absolutely, please feel welcome to bring your luggage along to the meeting point and the tour guides will direct you to our nearby shop where you may store your bags while out on the tour.
